Ramped Temperature CO2 Evolution for Permafrost and Kolyma River Dissolved Organic Carbon

Dataset Identification:

Resource Abstract:
Abstract: This dataset is the CO2 (ppm) produced as a function of increasing temperature combustion of dissolved organic carbon at a constant 5°C per minute ramped rate with a constant flow-through of oxygen. Dissolved organic carbon samples were gathered from a permafrost thaw stream and the Kolyma River in northeastern Siberia and subjected to microbial incubation degradation before investigation by ramped pyrolysis oxidation. Data is used to create a thermogram followed by inverse modeling to garner chemical composition based on thermostability. Samples were analyzed to determine the contribution of permafrost dissolved organic carbon to the Kolyma River.
