Abstract: This dataset presents whole-rock major- and trace-element analyses of basalts from the Big Pine volcanic field, California using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and whole-rock FeO titrations. This dataset also includes electron microprobe analyses of associated mineral phases including olivine, clinopyroxene, plagioclase, and Fe-Ti oxides (ilmenite and titanomagnetite). Whole-rock and mineral compositions are used to place constraints on temperature, melt H2O content, and fO2 using a variety of crystal-melt thermometers, hygrometers, and oxybarometers.
